Reconnecting the Trishuli corridor

August 2026, Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading

The problem

The flood cut communication lines, ropeways and power across the Trishuli and Bhote Koshi valleys.

What was built

Drone line-stringing (a pilot wire flown across, then a bigger wire, then the real cable, with a custom drop mechanism) and drone delivery of relief materials.

What happened

GarudX led the stringing work: a line and ropeway at the Chilime tunnel that sped up the rescue, and internet, electricity and a ropeway reconnected at Devighat for 150+ households.

Starting 27 August 2026, GarudX flew relief materials into Devighat and led line-stringing across the flooded corridor, coordinating with police, army, ministries and the electricity authority.

At the Chilime tunnel the team strung a line and a ropeway that made the rescue faster and easier. At Devighat it reconnected internet, electricity and a ropeway.

GarudX also trained the Nepal Army in drone delivery; the Army went on to move more than 3,000 kg a day by drone.

GarudX flew as part of the drone team led by Hami Nepal, alongside Nepal Police, Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force. All of it was voluntary.
