Into the Upper Trishuli-1 tunnel

The problem

After the August 2026 flood, rescuers needed eyes inside a flooded, debris-filled hydropower tunnel where radio video signals die at the first bend.

What was built

Overnight, a relay that converts 5.8 GHz video to 1.2 GHz so the signal bends through wet concrete. Army special forces carried it in on a trekking stick.

What happened

The drone reached the first debris platform before rockfall closed the way. The Nepal Army's follow-up mission confirmed what it showed.

Adarsha was in Mustang on another project when the flood hit. Engineers on site and the Home Ministry asked for help, and he built a custom relay the same night before leaving for Nuwakot at 3 am.

The relay converted the drone's 5.8 GHz video to 1.2 GHz, a lower frequency that travels further around tunnel curves and through wet concrete. A waterproofed GarudX FPV drone flew in alongside the rescue teams.

The mission was voluntary and led by Hami Nepal, which GarudX works closely with.
